ABA Annual Conference
Beyond 80: Taking the next step
|
|
|
Celebrate the ABA's
80th year in 2004!
|
The
ABA Conference was held in Canberra at the Hyatt Hotel from
Saturday 14 August to Tuesday 17 August. What better place to
celebrate a major milestone for a national association than
the national capital?
|
The Conference
highlights included:
|
Opening presenter: Li Cunxin, author of Mao's Last Dancer
- a truly inspirational speaker
|
Jeff McMullen returns to challenge and inspire us again
|
A full day of exhibiting by small publishers and other suppliers
to booksellers - a great opportunity to meet with suppliers
you don't normally see
|
An Industry Day on the final day of the Conference, focusing
on issues of vital interest to booksellers and publishers
|
Special social events, including an opening night dinner at
the National Museum, and Sunday dinner and the 'Definitive Debate'
in the members' dining room at Old Parliament House
|
The combined ABA 80th Annual Dinner and 2004 Book Industry Awards
Dinner - a very special night of celebration
|
With the inclusion
of exhibits, the Industry Day and the Industry Awards Dinner,
the 80th ABA Conference will truly be a whole-of-industry event.
You can't afford to miss it!
The full conference cost for ABA members, including all meals
and accommodation, is $1050 per person single and $850 per person
double, an amazing deal for such a huge event at a luxurious
venue.
