Member Services Officer (4-4.5 days per week) duties include:

• Handling membership queries, as well as proactively promoting and seeking new membership
• Some field work, including visiting bookshops and regularly communicating with members
• Promoting and expanding the range of services available to members
• Assisting with National Bookshop Day and IndieBound
• Ensuring the database is used in the most productive fashion
• Liaise with staff and management committee regarding training needs for members

Selection Criteria

Essential:

• A strong knowledge of the industry
• Ability to negotiate and navigate towards positive outcomes
• Strong people skills
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office

Desirable:

• Experience as a bookseller
• Sales experience
• Ability to work with a database
