We have a unique opportunity for a Full Team Leader working in our book division at the Melbourne Airport. As a Team Leader you will in charge of supervising the Book Team in relation to customer service, sales & storeroom work.

Bookshop Manager - Eltham, VIC

Volumes Books Cafe Gifts Music has a position for a Bookshop Manager in our busy books, music and giftware store in Eltham. This role is a newly created position and the incumbent will initially act in an Assistant to the Manager role stepping up to co-mananging the store wth the current Bookshop Manager. Experience managing a Bookshop environment is ESSENTIAL.

The person we are looking for will be computer literate, preferably with knowledge of mBiblioFile and Office applications, and willing to work flexible hours up to between 20-30hrs per week, including weekends.

As we are an independent store with a wide variety of stock, you will be involved in multiple tasks throughout the day. This requires a high level of maturity, flexibility and initiative. You must be able to multi-task, handle interruptions and be able to follow tasks through to completion. Time management skills are critical to this role.

Essential criteria:

Demonstrated ability to manage a bookshop
Demonstrated ability to supervise staff and manage a budget
Demonstrated ability to liaise with suppliers and representatives
Demonstrated ability to answer product enquiries and identify customers needs
Demonstrated ability to use mBibliofile or similar database progam to process sales and perform customer and inventory management and reporting
Demonstrated ability to manage ordering and stock return processes
Demonstrated ability to merchandise stock and present store in best manner possible
Demonstrated ability to assist in the opening and closing of the store and processing of customer orders and laybys.

Applicants must have bookshop management experience. Additional experience within a giftware environment will be highly regarded.
